Diamond Stingily’s Life In My Pocket, published on the occasion of her first ever solo museum exhibition at ICA Miami. Working across disciplines but with a concentration in sculpture and video, the New York-based artist uses readymades to explore personal and shared memories of suburban life, Black girlhood, and racial violence. Utilising already existing materials such as wooden doors, chains and synthetic hair, Stingily creates works that reflect on systemic racial injustice in the United States and her own personal experiences.
