Partly inspired by the Haruki Murakami short story On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning, Chungking Express captures the spellbinding nocturnal glory of Hong Kong and its inhabitants as they fall in love. Written in Japanese, this movie pamphlet features richly coloured on-set photos, and an image of Wong and Quentin Tarantino side by side; the American director says that he cried when he first saw Chungking Express because he was "just so happy to love a movie this much.”
