The debut book by avant-garde writer Kathy Acker. Designed by Leandro Katz and published by TVRT & Printed Matter, Acker’s debut novel exemplifies her radical writing style. It was the follow up to a series of six self-published booklets produced and distributed from 1973 to 1976 also titled The Childlike Life of the Black Tarantula available here. Written under her pseudonym ‘The Black Tarantula’, it is a of the controversial cut-up literary technique which Acker would become known for later in life.
