A rare, 2-sided audio cassette tape from 1987 including 2 of American artist Mike Kelley’s dark and humorous performance pieces. Side A features the live radio performance The Peristaltic Airwaves first broadcast in September 1986. Side B plays Kelley’s Plato’s Cave, Rothko’s Chapel, Lincoln’s Profile performed alongside Molly Cleator and the members of Sonic Youth recorded live at Artists Space, New York in December of the same year. ‘As a performance, Plato’s Cave, Rothko’s Chapel, Lincoln’s Profile occupied a strange no-man’s-land between knotty conceptualism and infantile play, between a lecture demonstration and a rock concert,’ wrote Carlo McCormick in Artforum at the time.
